Empowering Energy Futures – The Role of AI in Advancing Geosciences

The theme of this panel session aligns with the conference theme "The Role of Geosciences in Shaping our Energy Future," highlighting AI’s transformative impact on geosciences for sustainable energy development. It delves into AI's applications in geological mapping, seismic interpretation, and reservoir characterization, showcasing how these technologies enhance data analysis, improve efficiency, and streamline operations across the energy sector.

Through case studies, the panellists will illustrate AI's initial successes in resource extraction, petrophysical analysis, and environmental monitoring, emphasizing its integration with traditional geological methods. The challenges of adopting AI in geosciences, such as data quality, model complexity, and the need for interdisciplinary collaboration, are addressed.
